A long rectangular garden, blessed with a backdrop of mature trees and owned by a keen Gardener, this client wanted to introduce flowers and focal points that could be appreciated from the main house. Several seating areas and existing hard landscaping also needed to be incorporated into the design.

An elegant winding path maximised the width and played with the scale. Classis elements such as flower filled borders and rose arches introduce height which along with newly planted young trees counter balanced soaring taller trees beyond.

Accessible raised borders for older family members, a gravel garden for the dry, scorched earth surrounding the tall conifers, incorporating a fire pit for the younger adults in the household, room for the dog and careful perennial plant selection that could be lifted and divided over the years, thereby doubling the quantity and density of planting.
